Step 1: Cut the Nozzle at a 45° Angle

Cut the tip of the sealant nozzle at roughly a 45-degree angle. The opening size controls the bead width. For fish tank seams, a medium-sized opening gives you a smooth, controlled line without too much mess.

Step 2: Load the Cartridge

Pull the plunger back on the caulking gun, insert the cartridge, and push the plunger forward until it seats firmly against the back of the tube.

Step 3: Apply the Sealant

Hold the gun at a 45° angle to the glass edge and squeeze the trigger steadily. Move along the seam in one continuous motion. The goal is a full, even bead that completely covers the joint.

Step 4: Assemble and Smooth

Press the glass panels together and wipe away any excess sealant with a gloved finger or a clean tool. A smooth seam looks better and seals better.

Step 5: Wait 24 Hours Before Testing

Silicone needs time to cure. Let the tank sit undisturbed for at least 24 hours. Only then should you add water.

Step 6: Fill and Enjoy

Slowly fill the tank and check all seams for leaks. If everything stays dry, you're good to go — add your fish and enjoy.
